    William Abelyan, more popularly known as William Abelyan was born on September 27, 1978, in Yerevan, Armenia. He, however, is currently residing at Henderson, Nevada, USA. He has Armenian nationality. He was known with his alias The Conqueror during his playing days.

    William began boxing at a very young age. He started training with the legendary Olympic Bronze Medalist David Torosyan from the age of 12. William started his professional boxing career in 1998.
