Byron Mann was born in Hong Kong to a dentist father and a Chinese-American mother on 13 August 1967.
Mann grew up in a bilingual family speaking English and Cantonese and attended the Diocesan Boys' School, in Hong Kong. During his school days, he was actively involved in a community theatre as an actor and writer. Additionally, sports, particularly tennis and golf, are of interest to Mann.
He also was a high-class tennis player back in Hong Kong, and played in Hong Kong under 16 tennis team. He also studies wushu, and has showcased his skills in movies like Invincible, and Street Fighter.
After graduating, Mann moved to California. He was a philosophy major in Hong Kong and as per Byron, he then continued to study philosophy at UCLA in Los Angeles, California and graduated in philosophy.
As per the actor, he had a girlfriend while attended USC Law School, in Los Angeles, who suggested him to quit Law.
